Tribal minds Inc:
12 point program
1. WE WANT FREEDOM. WE WANT SELF-DETERMINATION FOR OURSELVES AND ALL OTHER OPPRESSED COMMUNITIES.
We believe that Indigenous people will not be released from bondage until we free our minds, bodies, and spirits. We must ensure that our suffering comes with the understanding of the foreign and domestic threats that diminish our consciousness and collective autonomy. We seek balance in nature and personal accountability, in discovery of the higher self, for the benefit of dismantling generational curses, burdens, and unnecessary struggle. We boldly challenge the colonization within us and wish to end lateral oppression and self-sabotage at the cellular level.
2. WE WANT ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR PEOPLE.
We believe historically oppressive mechanisms restrict Indigenous people from gaining equitable or fair access and compensation. Therefore, we require the means to develop proprietary ownership of our industries of choice within our own spaces by inspiring and supporting small businesses as the pathway to economic freedom for the collective good. We wish to dismantle poverty-driven mindsets and replace them with prosperity and abundance.
3. WE WANT OUR LAND BACK.
We believe that white supremacy, and all systems that support it, have engineered the theft of Indian lands and resources. While millions of European-American families have benefited from generational wealth—by way of the equity accrued at the expense of our extermination and removal from our homelands—we seek retribution and just compensation.
4. WE WANT AN END TO INDIGENOUS MASS HOUSELESSNESS.
We believe that poverty-driven policies and practices that continually oppress marginalized communities must cease to exist. Instead, we must intentionally create diversified housing pathways that allow our people to support themselves in a dignified manner. In alignment with the Land Back Movement, we call for the return of those stolen resources so that we may create our communities, build our homes, grow our food, and establish our spiritual and medical centers.
5. WE WANT ACADEMIC REPARATIONS FOR ALL INDIGENOUS PEOPLE.
We believe that assimilation tactics have disadvantaged generations of our people. We demand safe and effective academic access for our children, whether on the Reservations or off. Our position is to reinforce our educational futures with knowledge of Indigenous forethought and purpose. Our identities and connection with the land must carry academic success and harmony with nature and vice versa. We shall push back racist curriculum and practices and bring light to the global majority's insights, stories, experiences, and subject matter. We shall co-create with other marginalized groups to empower all people regarding educational equity. Finally, we seek justice and retribution for our systemic shortcomings and call for progressive measures from All Land Grant Institutions via administrative remedy. We call on those elected to office for legislative fixes to social inequities.
6. WE WANT FREE HEALTH CARE FOR ALL PEOPLE.
We believe that the Federal Trust Responsibility to Indian Tribes should mandate complete and total funding for all Tribal Hospitals and Clinics. We also believe that our tax dollars should fund a universal health care system and that this system shall provide sustainable and humane options to those historically oppressed. For the greater good, we seek preventative, holistic, and advanced care for all people. We call for the development of medical systems that help, educate, and inform oppressed populations with accurate scientific and medical information to obtain the most effective medical care for the conditions caused by generational suffering.
7. WE WANT AN IMMEDIATE END TO POLICE BRUTALITY AND THE MURDER OF ALL PEOPLE OF THE GLOBAL MAJORITY.
We believe that racist and fascist initiatives (and operatives) subjugate, intimidate, silence, and distract historically oppressed populations while maintaining white supremacy and other destructive power dynamics. We believe in our right to live, defend ourselves, and seek justice for unlawful practices and acts. We desire preventative measures, proportional representation, due process, alternative sanctions, less-than-lethal force mandates, and all other policies and procedures which protect the sanctity of life.
8. WE WANT THE DISSOLUTION OF SYSTEMS THAT SUPPORT WHITE SUPREMACY.
We believe that institutional racism has roots in almost every American ideology, enterprise, and governance sector. We believe that dismantling racist systems that uplift some and disparage others is necessary for the common good. Creating new mechanisms that support all people and vehemently oppose racism is best for future generations and the environment. We will not be nice to racists.
9. WE WANT PROPORTIONAL REPRESENTATION
We believe that power dynamics across the United States will not change until proportional representation in leadership positions and all elected offices occurs. For far too long, have the scales of impartiality moved towards the maintained power of white men. We call for representation that is diverse in age, color, creed, and sexual orientation. We want to see true Native Nevadans elected to office.
10. WE WANT TO EXPAND VOTING ACCESS.
We believe that as Indigenous People organize, the concept of Tribal Sovereignty; is thereby strengthened across Nevada. When we mobilize efforts towards a common goal, we win. Voting is our tool. Voter suppression is their tool. We must unify our voices and show up to the ballot boxes if we ever want to see our people elected. Our mission is to see that Nevada's 27 Tribes and Colonies are present in every local, state, and federal election.
11. WE WANT TRUTH AND RECONCILIATION.
We believe that mass genocide, extermination, rape, and theft are a significant part of American history. However, until these actions have been revealed, spoken about, and taught as the truth about the imperialistic nature of this country, we will not be silent about local, state, and federal governments righting these wrongs. Great healing needs to happen on this land for Indigenous and all other oppressed people. Truth and Reconciliation must occur in our governance, institutions, and spirituality so that we break those cycles of oppression. As a reminder, this will always be Indian Land.
12. WE WANT THE PROTECTION OF THE LAND AND ALL OF ITS RESOURCES FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS.
We believe that colonizers have caused vile atrocities to this land, the plants, the animals, and our Ancestors and that we are the ones who carry the generational burdens. As we find ourselves in a climate catastrophe, it is our international duty to protect natural resources and do our part to elevate the consciousness and behaviors of people on this planet. The spirits of this land, the power of the Earth, and the laws of nature; are more significant than human greed. We must protect the land and its resources for future generations and organize our people on various fronts to accomplish this goal. We must seek the best practices, eco-friendly public policy, and brave new leaders.
